Not really a behaviour question but where do you people buy your long leads from?
My Leo girl (1 year old) will be coming home in a less than a month and I want to be prepared.
She has grown up with my family and had few bad habits, mainly due to my family being a bit too soft with her and allowing her to do things they see as not doing any harm.
One of them is that she will go to any dog she sees.
They live in a quite close knit community and Sasha is used to being off lead and has been allowed to go over to other dogs as 95% of the time she knows them already.
I did say this will not be allowed when she comes here and to teach her not to just go over and say hello but my family kind of ignored the advise...
I think I will need to get a long lead so that I'm in control and can teach her the new way of meeting dogs straight from the beginning.
I also know that a young Leo leaping around can really scare a another dog even though she doesn't mean harm.
When I was looking after my friends dog I also noticed there are few dog aggressive dogs being walked/trained at the park near me and I would hate her to cause set backs to them by her silly behauviour or her to get in trouble with these dogs.
I think her recall will need some work done too so I'll need long lead for that too...
She knows what she is supposed to do but lately she has got in to a habit of looking at you and you can just see her expression change and she will try to play the game of catch me if you can!
Being a Leo she is pretty large/strong so I was not sure where to get a long lead that will not snap/cut my hands off if she pulls on it...
She is already wearing a harness (her 5th one, due her growing out of them!) instead of a collar so all I really need is the lead/line.
I'm broke after paying for all the travel through Europe to go and get her, so cheap price would be a huge plus too :) :) :)
