Did you get it sorted? I often get a bad reaction to any bite but horseflies are the worst. It comes up in large weal, is very hard, and I get swelling quite quickly, often with a creeping red line that looks like an infection. My most recent one last week was on my wrist but the swelling extended onto my fingers, round my lower arm up to my elbow and even made my shoulder hurt.
Try After Bite: see here
http://www.simplicityhealth.co.uk/afterbite.aspI didn't get it on fast enough this time, as I was away from home, but this will stop the problem almost immediately. I'm usually never without it!
I got stung by a bee yesterday!!!
you'd have laughed if you'd seen me, I had just taken 2 of the dogs out in the garden, went to get the other 3, had standard cargo style trousers on, not particularly baggy (can you guess where I'm going with this??...)
anyway, just set off with other 3, felt something around my leg, didn't think much of it, a few paces later realised something was in my trouser leg, tried shaking the trouser a bit....a few more steps...then heard a buzzing noise....
EEEEK!!!!
quickly re-traced my steps so I could take my trousers down without any neighbours seeing...torn a nail in my haste....but too late the bee stung me on the front of my thigh before I could drop my trews!!!! It didn't leave it's sting in so maybe it only stung me a little bit before it was released, as it certainly flew off...I think it was a honey bee, definitely not a wasp, small and furry, pale yellow and brown
so I dashed back into the kitchen (Skoll was very interested in my trews round my knees, I think he thought the bee was still there, he has a "thing" for bees and buzzing insects!) wasn't sure what to put on it so had some lemon juice in the fridge which i dashed over it, came up in 3 small little lumps which went down again quite quickly
first time I've been stung by a bee, I got goosebumps when it stung me, I'm assuming from adrenalin?? But at least I know I'm not allergic and my leg hasn't dropped off - LOL
am more upset about my nail as they are all a nice length at the moment and now I have a short one....
