Ok, I don't know how I've done it but I've managed to lose the font box when I'm using Microsoft Word so when I'm writing a letter/printing labels etc. all I can print in is Times New Roman.  Can anyone help me find my missing Fonts?

If you can no longer see the fonts drop down list and you are using Word 2000 go to View and then scroll down to Toolbars and the click on Formatting on the right hand side this will bring back the missing fonts etc

It's Microsoft Office XP and I've tried that - Formatting has a tick next to it, I assume this is what it should have?   Still no fonts or I'm being majorly thick?

I don't use XP but I do know that in some color schemes, the font-selection combo box on the edit toolbar appears blank in Microsoft Publisher 2002.

If no one posts the solution here you might try Microsoft Support:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307843
as I know they do serivce packs for Microsoft Office XP and I think they also have a suport forum

Have you changed your printer?
- By ChristineW Date 17.01.08 21:54 UTC
Yes - but it was like this before I changed it!

Well, try this :-D

Start - settings - printers and faxes - and then right click on the printer you're using and click set as default (you won't get the default option if it's the only one there though!).

There is only one, I uninstalled the printer that didn't work when I got the new one!

If you go to the format option on the toolbar and click on it you will get a Fonts option. Click on this and then a dialogue box opens and you can select your fonts there - not as convenient as doing it on the toolbar but at least you can select the font you want. Has the toolbar with the fonts selection box on it moved to the bottom of your screen? I did this once, not sure how but it appeared there rather than at the top.

I think I know which bit you mean, try this:

Go to View>Toobars>Customize>In the Customize window select Toolbars tab>
make sure Formatting is ticked in highlighted>then click Commands tab>choose Built In Menus on left hand side>
Scroll down to Font on right hand side>
drag and drop onto existing menu bar (the one that has bold, italics, underline symbols, centre, left align, etc.)
That should then give you a Font tab with drop down menu....

Thank you TT, that has rectified the problem however dozy here (Me!) has managed to put 2 Font tabs up on the Menu!   Oh well, if I lose one I have a reserve!  ;-)

he he he - so have I!  duh!

Hey, as you said - at least if you lose one again - the other will be there still :-D
