has anyone had "wobbly" puppies?? i have just been to look at a litter with someone and one of them was like it was only just getting the hang of walking whereas the others at 3 weeks were ok! It was a very well looking and bold puppy and no other signs of anyhting unusual, but once standing it wobbled from its shoulder back as if trying to keep balanced. very odd i thought! Owner said it seemed fine otherwide and his vet said dont worry it will either grow out of it or die:eek:

Hello Sam,we had a wobbly puppy,it wobbled so fast it sort of looked like there was something wrong with my eyes, double vision or something, well that was two years ago,and a Leonberger lady told me it was quite common, and just to give it liquid calcium daily, small dosage, and treat it as normal, also had the same advise as your friend  did from our vet,and by the time our puppy was 12 weeks she was absolutely fine, had a few tremors on laying down/getting up etc,but that totally stopped by time she was four months old,and now she is as fit as a fiddle,no shakes, has really good below average hip and elbow scores,we kept her ourselves,as we did not really know how things would turn out with her,and we were quite attached to her by this time as well,
hope that was of some use

At 3 weeks the pup just coudl be s bit slow getting it's strength and co-ordination, especially if a large heavy pup.  .

hi, when i got me pup at seven weeks i noticed she was very wobbly on her feet unlike my dog which i got at 13 weeks. i thought there was something the matter with her but the vet assured me she was fine, she is prob just a bit slower in developing than the other 2.

last i heard it was fine but as she (friend) decided against pup from that litter i never saw it again. Breeder tells me he gave some small extra calcium and all cleared up, but that may have happened despite the calcium of course.

I would imagine as with all babies they develop at different rates as long as there is no other signs eg pup crying, not feeding etc I wouldn't worry :-D

I must say there has been a marked difference in "the wobble"today, and he seems much sturdier on his little fat legs.
glad the one you went to see is better
