Does anyone know what the recommended amount of garlic a day is in mgs..? I've done a search on old threads and see that a lot of people give one clove per day. I've looked on various sites and seen odourless garlic tablets at anything from 2mg tablets up to 1200mg! I may just give him fresh instead (although I suspect he may well turn his nose up at it :rolleyes: :D), but just wondered if anyone does know a rough guide of dosage in mgs?

If you buy garlic or garlic and fenugreek tablets made by Dorwest specifically for dogs the dosage will be on there.

6-8 tablets a day for his weight. I simply cannot afford their prices though (I'm already giving him 8 of their Mixed Vegetable tablets a day!, as well as starflower oil, zinc, vitamin E, all for skin - been tested for allergies and currently on immunotherapy injections but the scratching has flared up badly again since the spring so looking at what else I can try).

Would about 200mg a day sound right from their dosage..?

I give my golden a clove a day and if it's a day he isn't having his veg mix, then I slip a clove into one of his chicken wings!

i make my BC Liver Cake
He Cant Get Enough Of It
i put in a liquidizer a pack of liver, some crushed fresh garlic and an egg
liquidize it  (carefull not to burn out the motor as it can get wrapped around the blades!!!)
put it in a baking tin in the oven for about 30 mins
when cooked -I cut it up into tiny pieces and give it to my BC at training and for treats
i have also added it to his food but watch that he is not eating too much extra
He absolutely loves it and i would highly recommend anyone to try if u dont mind the bother of making it
i make a large tray of it when cut up and cool -i freeze it and take out small amounts as i need it
someone told me about this recipe
would be interesting to know how others have tried and got on
