My dogs are on a complete dry diet with the odd extra. I like them to have something they can chew occasionally for their teeth, and since bones tend to give the gsp colitis I got some ox heart. They got 1/4 heart each - gsp wolfed his down - he loves anything like that - but the flat coat just stood and looked at his sadly. It was the same last time I got bones (first time I'd tried f/c with them), Duibh just stood and looked at it sadly and wouldn't try it - but he got the runs shortly after, so I put it down that time to feeling under the weather. He's fit and healthy apart from his leg, mouth is fine apart from a bit of tartar (since he won't chew!).
Has anyone else had this problem - and is there any way of encouraging dogs to chew? Would it work if I cut it up with some small and big pieces, or is he just never going to take to it?
