Get yourself some honey made within about 7 miles of where you live and start taking a spoonful everyday. :)

Yes I've been suffering for a few days, very itchy eyes and bouts of  sneezing. I was tested once and am allergic to tree pollens --and we live opposite woods! My OH starts with his grass pollen allergy when I've finished with the trees-what a pair!

Hi Val

I had forgotten about the honey. I bought some last year. Does it go off if it has already been opened ?

I honestly have no idea, but I'd think it would be OK.  My Father who suffered very badly for many years, keeps taking his honey all through the year and now doesn't even have any itchy eyes or runny nose. :)

Does that work like allergy desensitisation? And is there an equivalent for asthma?

oh no! :( i get it pretty bad & am also allergic to tree pollen but so far haven't noticed any symptoms! :) I'm going to try the honey thing this year, made a special trip to Chatsworth House to get some (any excuse!!) so fingers crossed that works!

I'm trialling contact lenses at the mo so could do without the itchy eyes sympton...

After over thirty years of bad hay fever, I have always been very relieved when late August/September arrives :) Last year the hay fever just kept on.......... :( :( OK, it's not anywhere near as bad as in the summer, but I sneeze at work and at home. I wondered whether I'd become sensitive to the dogs - but why should I sneeze at work :confused::confused: What with that and my infected sinuses, I have a perpetual blocked nose, phlegmy throat etc 365 days a year now :( :( It's about time I visited the doctor's, but I haven't been for years as I don't like going :( :( :( I'm driving my OH and work colleagues mad with constant sneezing and sniffing :D

Oh well looks like they will have to continue being driven mad :D

You sound like you may have a dust mite allergy not that I am saying your house is dirty :eek: :D :D

I hadn't even thought of hayfever but have been sneezing and had itchy, stingy eyes for a few days.
Gonna be a great spring for me

I got dust mite allergy.

My mum kindly paid for me to go private to get tests done.
As my GP was insistant that it was either the dogs or cats and I'd
have to rehome them..did say was very surprised to become allergic to
cats and dogs since always having them in my life since I was 4yo...
So told her wouldn't rehome my animals until I was 100% certain what was causing
my allergies (stuffy sinuses, itchy/runny eyes, sneezing, asthma)
Turns out no allergies to the animals at all  Can you imagine how many people
have rehomed their pets on GP's advice and it's not their pets causing the problems!!

Turns out it's Dust mite allergy, which also can cause asthma..my asthma started when I had a cleaning job..
thought it was the cleaning products I was allergic to but it was the starts of the allergy only I didn't realise it.

Yes haveing more animals creates more skin scales which is what DM's feed on but since changing and washing one's
bedding at 6o degree's, using a dyson hoover (or a similar allergy friendly one) I've not needed my asthma medication
for years! Whoo-hoo :D The only blip I had was when the steroid nasal spray that I was prescribed and using well gave me
oral thrush - so I had to change medication. But it's still under control thankfully.
