I took my son to a rugby match this morning and saw a lady who I see alot walking her dog, Storm, a lab about 3 years old, and we have done some work for in the past. When we see each other we have a good old natter about dogs,
On Thursday night, Richard her 16 1/2 year old son was walking Storm along the main road at 6 oclock at night. Storm was on the inside away from the road on a short lead. The dog was good on the lead aswell.
In a split second he darted in front of richard to the roadside and was hit by a van. Killed out right. No marks on him or anything.
It was not Richards fault, he was doing everything correctly.
This is the reason why you should never walk a dog on a loose or extendable lead or off lead. it only takes a split second.
RIP Storm.
