I have never had a problem with Misty eating her food as it is gone in 60 seconds of putting it down, no matter what it is or how much. But just lately she is acting as if she is hungry constantly, it doesn't matter that she was fed only 5 mins ago, she is still trying to find food with a vengence. As soon as I open a cupboard to get something out, she is in there trying to grab stuff, dried pasta, packets of couscous etc etc. She is now trying to get on the table when we are eating and will grab what she can :(. It is now getting to the stage that we are unable to walk from the kitchen to the lounge with a snack without her trying to get it. Basically she could be the other end of the room and literally will charge towards us and grab before we realise whats going on.
I have recently increased her food (fed on Burns) as I thought she may actually be hungry but she is starting to get a little pot belly!!!

I know that dogs will do this and counter surf but when does it become excessive? What sort of training should I be doing to prevent this and ensure she stays put. We have tried stairgates in the doorway to the dining room/lounge/kitchen etc but she will sit there and whine/bark constantly and try to jump them (wont be long before she can ).
Any ideas? :)
