Things can go wrong. I have just had to have a ceaser for my bitch, that and the Stud fee and other vet costs, and Registration fees have cost £1100. They are only 3 days old, and will cost a lot more to rear! It is a small litter, so I will be well out of pocket, but the reson for breeding is to hopefully breed something that will add to my breeds gene pool, or at the very least produce typical sound companions. this is a hobby, but carries great responsibilities for the individual pups, the breed, and the puppy buying public!
Have you also considered your responsibilities to the puppies. If one of the homes does not work out you will be morrally bound to have the erstwhile pup back. It may through lack of proper socialisation and training be a total hooligan, or god forbid, being a Guarding breed, may have been goaded into aggressive behaviour, for the macho effect. could you face having a pup back that was beyond safe rehabilitation and have to take your baby to the vet to be put down, KILLED!!!
