Hi,
Some times things are took the wrong way on a thread, and yes,
it can seem as if people gang up on others.
I am personally, a very opened minded person. But! over the net,
you can't see peoples body language, and most of us, do not no-one another.
We all have different values, and life stiles, but! We have the love of dogs in common,
and that's what we need to share. We all learn somethink new every day, all our lives.
Everyone has to start somewhere. But! we are all guilty of expecting people to know what
we know and get shirty when they don't. But! if I ask a question, I have to expect a range
of answer's, some, I will take on board, and some I may not like. But! the thruth in
any answer given, is what's needed.
Regards
Denese

To be honest im not a breeder and although i have a pedigree GSD i also have a GSDcross breed.I have found that CD give alot of good advice and help alot of people out in difficult situstions.I have recieved a few replies to posts i have made that i was not happy with but what you have to remember is that you are asking for an opinion and dont always expect a pat on the back.Peoples opinions differ. On the other hand, ive also posted a few things that others here have not agreed on.So it works both ways.Negativity is a part of life too and has to be accepted.
I actually help out in dog rescue and im a small animal rescuer/fosterer so its not just the big time breeders that use this forum for all the knowledge gleened here. :)

You can not please all of the people all of the time...

Presumably anyone who posts here are after 'expert' advice - am I wrong?  That's what you get! I'd defy anyone who has been reading or posting on these boards to say that they haven't learn more than a thing or two. It may not always be what you want to hear, but you know it's good sound advice.

To 'clique' or not to 'clique'... perhaps we should all start 'cliquer traing!' ;)

Now that's an excellent idea! Personally, I respond particularly well to chocklit ginger biscuits...;)

I joined after months of reading myself... some dating back to 2002.  After asking a few questions last november and december (go ahead.. feel free to check  ), i was disgusted by some of the responses... i did not understand what i did to provoke anyone.  I decided this forum is not for me and must be part of some cult i didnt understand.  Then i googled and asked around... turns our lots of people felt this way and the forum has a reputation of being...(this forum is so sensitive put your own word here).... and turning people away.

Then i figured fcuk that... if the point is to keep new people away.. or the perception is that people get turned away, then i'll stay around.

There are some good people on this forum.. jeangenie.. loki's mom (although she really has to understand she can be seen as a bit over the top... or not.. up to her), and many others whose names i cant remember.

One of the most telling things about this forum is a person's first post, they post with the expectation that they are going to get a new one ripped open... almost begging not to be yelled at or made a fool of.  That is a tell tale sign.......

I think its like any forum tho, you need to get a feel for it too, if CD was as bad as some would have you think why is it so successful, and one of the very few forums where you will receive some of the best advice for your dog........ok so its not bigs on hugs n kisses and all things fluffy, but if you want help you will find it here, whether you choose to accept any advice given is purely up to the individual. On the other hand the 'fluffy' sites are plentiful :)
