we tend to give our 18 month old weim quite a few treats, either for training or left in treat balls etc when we are out. she isn't particularly hyper or anywhere near overweight but we feed her on naturediet and i feel as though we may be undoing all the good work of naturediet by giving her numerous additives etc in the shop bought treats we give her!!! there is one sort we buy that are natural, i think they are called natures menu or similar!! but i was wondering if anyone could suggest more natural treats! thanks!! p.s she eats a lot of fruit and veg but it doesnt always have the same effect as treats!!

Whats that one they do at Pets At Home in the big box?  Says on the website "50 natural dog treats" but I can't make out the brand.  Is it any good?

I've heard that Davies make 'natural' and 'healthy' treats :)

Hi -

JWB Treats are good: http://www.wellbeloved.co.uk/   Then> Treats

Burns are also good and make a few kinds:  http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/store/index.html   Then> Treats

And Coachies are good:  http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/coachies.php    (Recommend you get the big tub and not the small packet!)

Nipper is still having a serious attack of cupboard love today. Reason? I discovered JWB's Duck Flavour Minijacks in our local pet store and came home with 2 packets of 'em. :)

I've used just about any vegetable cut into small pieces.  Got great results during agility training on canned chick-peas, green beans, bits of apple etc., as well as the usual little bits of chicken weiner.

I made my own fish skin treats   :D

After cooking Salmon Fillets I removed the skins before serving (we never eat the skins anyway ;) ) and popped them in the oven on a baking tray at lowish heat, when they were crispy I took them out and broke them into handy sizes.  They keep well in an airtight tub :D

The house stank of oily fish for a while tho, so it might be taking doggy love a bit far :D :D :D

the dogs adore them tho :)
