Hi
First you go and get your catalogue. Some open shows will give you the ring number at the same time, at others you collect it when you actually go in the ring. (You'll find the number in the catalogue then of course.) Next you find your ring and wait for the judging to start -the schedule should have given you some idea of when your breed is to be judged, as it usually lists in what order breeds are done.

Good luck!!

Unfortunately i'm doing the Gloucester one instead that day but my friend has her Akita pup there in the Akita class.
She will also be at the Nordic one at the connexion on the Saturday and i'm going along to watch as I only live a mile away.
What's you bitches name. I'll look you up when I get there. PM me with the details if you prefer.
Good luck on Sunday and remember (enjoy?)

Oh I'll actually be at Burton on Trent. :) Will be stuck around my ring all the time no doubt though, have 2 Malinois entered and one I bred to handle as well most likely.

Hi anworth,

If you look at your schedule on the first page is the judging order your in ring 2 they usually run to the order of the book but be prepared for changes.
We're in ring 3 with the beardies.

I will be at the Nordic, and I suspect Archer, Purplenemus and Vanhalla too showing the Elkhounds.

Are you going too Anwen?

Hi,
We will be there too with our German Spitz klein and Cardigan Corgis. This is a good show for us as we only live half a mile down the road from the venue.

Mittels are in just before us in ring 2, but quite a way down the schedule so we are not planning to get there until about 11.00am.

Regards

Treva

I went to my first open show (and first ever show) in May this year with my boy!  We had attended a few ringcraft.  On the day of the show boy was I nervous - no idea what/where to go!

I was lucky enough to have a kind of mentor from ringcraft/introduced via my breeder at crufts who had the same breed.  But still was a nervewracking experience.

Arrived with plenty of time to spare.  Found the catalogues!  Checked the order of judging (several times), saw the number of entries in our class, located the ring and then waited anxiously!

We have a very friendly breed and lots of people came to say hello (and comment on my boy!) luckily nice comments so helped to relax me.

The best advice came from my hubby - it's just for fun and not life or death here!  Just remember that - it's for fun!!  You do have the best dog at the end of the day!

Well after Max being a v. good boy and remaining still and steading for the judge going over him - moved like a dream we came third out of (if memory serves me well) 9!

I never looked back - we have had a great time since in champ and open shows - and we have been doing ok - we have met some lovely people (across breeds too!)

We have really enjoyed every time we have showed - so smile relax and just enjoy it all!

Just want to add - Good luck!
