I would take your pups torincraft classes first. Staffies are shown head on to the judge on the floor. She will be expected to stand foursquare facing the judge while the judge then feels all over her, allows him to check her bite and teeth (this you will have to practice at home as many pups do not like it at first, and some never so but learn to tolerate it). The judge will then want to see how your dog moves from the rear side and front. You will need to move your dog at a steady pace so that it trots out smartly.
Usually you will be asked to move Round the ring with the other exhibits, adn when it is yoru turn you will normally be told to move in a Triangle (upside down anticlockwise with the point at judges feet), this allows the judge to see each angle. Most judges will also ask you to move up and down in a straight line, to see more of teh reart and front movement.
The film you saw was a 'take off' of the American show scene which is rather different to our own, alot more stylissed.
To judge movement properly the dog needs to move without pulling, preferably7 on a loose lead, looking straight ahead and not sniffing the ground.
