Hi :)

Have you never been to ringcraft with her as this will give you an idea :)

Basically with a staffy you enter the ring and line up and set your dog head on to present her to the judge.
He will eventually *go over* each dog-
checking ears, mouth, teeth, tail, whole of her body etc
You will be asked to walk up and down the ring twice (sometimes in a triangle depending on the judge and the show) and then after each dog has been seen you will line up once more and present your dog for the judge to make his selection and placings :)

Hope that makes sense :)
Its highly addictive and so long as you dont take it TOO seriously its great fun and a good day out :)

I would take your pups torincraft classes first.  Staffies are shown head on to the judge on the floor.  She will be expected to stand foursquare facing the judge while the judge then feels all over her, allows him to check her bite and teeth (this you will have to practice at home as many pups do not like it at first, and some never so but learn to tolerate it).  The judge will then want to see how your dog moves from the rear side and front.  You will need to move your dog at a steady pace so that it trots out smartly.

Usually you will be asked to move Round the ring with the other exhibits, adn when it is yoru turn you will normally be told to move in a Triangle (upside down anticlockwise with the point at judges feet), this allows the judge to see each angle.  Most judges will also ask you to move up and down in a straight line, to see more of teh reart and front movement.

The film you saw was a 'take off' of the American show scene which is rather different to our own, alot more stylissed.

To judge movement properly the dog needs to move without pulling, preferably7 on a loose lead, looking straight ahead and not sniffing the ground.

I best get her trained up then....she isnt a great puller but she tends to roll on her back whenever she see another dog.....BIG PROBLEM! :)

I keep telling her she is going to be a cat walk queen she is very excited...
