Ok have read these post and what I find amazing is we all have to remember we were novice's ourselves once unless you were born into a show home that is. So who are we to judge who breeds and when, well 18 months is the guide line for Stafford girls usually around the 3rd season so prefering 18 months onwards depending how there seasons fall . I love a blue the only thing I will add its not the colour you should be looking at but the breed line from which this sire comes from and has he enough to stamp your babies?????> Me I would be lining things up a bit more carefully if you have intentions of entering the show ring as it can be great if you have a good-un but pretty awful if you havent. You foremost should always breed for health if they turn out crackers then its a bonus so you must do your homework on health issues you have red in your breeding and though all clours can carry HC the reds have had a bashing these last 3-4 years so you must check everything out on both sides.
But look at other boys as well be realistic what are you wanting from this litter if its blue then you will be lucky. And a good blue well you have to remember its a diluted gene and with that you dont always get the ideal specimen. Not for me to put you off I just wonder what it is your looking for. Finally if you open the door you must account for your actions and be good to the people that buy your babies they are not punters they are looking to love your puppies for the rest of there lives so honesty must prevail always. Good luck
Hey didnt read properly. The only way I know to a fast track of success is to have had decent stock to start of with you cannot beat a well bred puppy as its then stamped with the look some like stronger some like balance I being the latter dont like to many wrinkles or thick lips I like clean good looking dogs with excellent structure. Sound on movement because if the frame is right then everything else should be right.
You just have to decide what look it is you like and then get on a list approach someone who has bred a few winners and look for good breeding at Nat Terrier there will be loads of people. Who know's you might even like the look of my two that I am taking I'm not breeding now but we all know someone. You know you should approach Jayneze on here she has stunning dogs and she knows what she is on about not sending her up but she has my respect.
Again Good Luck

Hi
Once you find your breeder it will all fall into place, ringcraft etc - honestly though - I have to say in my experience the people breeding the best Staffords out there are more interested in their pups going into permantent loving pet homes that may or may not show - but you should get no pressure from the breeder in this. They want forever homes rather than just selling to someone who wants to show - as anything can happen from a raw 8 week old pup to adulthood and if only sold to be a show dog what happens if due to an accident they can't be shown.
A good home is a home for life - not just the showring. :)
Take care and their are many good stafford breeders out there depending on what you like Jayne (Jayneze) would be a good a place to start as any. But go to a big show and look around see what you think - what you like and pursue that line.
