Okay I am starting to panic. Nothing major just heart pounding in my ears. feeling faint etc :)

I am at my first ever championship show Manchester Thursday and with my 6 month old puppy bitch (her first ever show) It seemed a good idea at the time - honest.

Well what do I wear???? don't want to go jeans. So I though a trouser suit in a light pale colour with a t-shirt in a brighter colour like red/pink or something. And black pumps/trainers for moving on possibly slippy floor. Tess the pup is black with a little brindle so didn't want dark clothing What does anyone think?

Your ideas sound absolutely fine to me, something to make the dog stand out from you, and non slip shoes, excellent.

Sounds perfect for a Champ Show to me!  Might be worth travelling/hiking from the carpark/sorting the dog out in jeans and sweatshirt and taking the clean stuff in a suitcarrier??

Sounds fine to me, but as Staffs don't go on the table and so are never against the top half of you.  I would go for black top under light suit to match with dark shoes. Not slippy in those halls by the way, its concrete floor.

Would look a neater picture in my opinion.

I will do my best to do that Jayne, and your right dark top dark shoes - duh my mind is not in gear. And the judge is from America so I thnk smart is the order of the day.
Have checked suit and it is brand new I must have forgotten about it ;) and it's very pale green.

Good idea about the Jeans Val, as its threatening rain up there on Thursday.  My lot seem to be drawn to clean clothes as soon as they step foot out of the car. :-D

Dry cleaners usually do a cheap suit carrier.  If you can't get there a black bin bag with a hole cut in the top for the coat hanger will keep your suit clean if your dog jumps up with muddy feet!!

Y'a know, I've seen folks with carrier bags on their feet when the ground at Welsh KC had been 6" deep in mud!! :(

Don't worry about the suit carrier yet, when you win Best opposite sex you can get a nice one from pedigree!!!!

Like has been said, black t-shirt to match shoes, light suit sounds great!

Do change at show, after a few shows you will learn A) to get changed in small toilets or B) learn how to grab several people to make a "human dressing room" and get changed at the benches! (I did it in under 2 mins at crufts last year!)

My first show with my first elkie was a champ show...he was 6 months a 4 dyas at the time so I know how you're feeling!!!!!!
Once you get in there it will be fine and the only thing you'll be thinking about is your pup ...in fact once I got to the show I started feeling better.
Your suit sounds fine to me...never really watched the staffy ring but can't imagine them being in the 'really posh' brigade somehow!Seems to vary greatly from breed to breed...elkies do VERY casual!!although suits are seen....whereas other breeds EVERYONE is suited and booted! I'm sure your outfit will be great!

Suit is very comfortable have just tried it on. I feel really relaxed in it. Just trying different t-shirts with it now. :)

Talking of suits, any ideas how to convince a dad I need ANOTHER suit... ;)

Hitch the trousers up high and raise yoru arms so sleeves run up and then tell him youv'e grown out of the oens you have.  Dads don't seem to realise when we have stopped growing.

Mind you I had relatives telling me, my haven't you grown until I was in my mid twenties.  Why do they do that whehn you stopped growing 12 years earlier.  Surely they mean haven't you grown UP!!.

Great stuff Kazz if you feel comfortable and at ease in the suit then it will be spot on for the show.

Have worn the shoes I wasn't going to wear - all day today and they are like a second skin so comfy. So thats me sorted. Just need to decide on a t-shirt now as the shoes are beige/cream loafers/pull ons thingys.

what ever you don't were white(it gets dirty very easily) how about light brown but not too light

  

Have decided on black t-shirt with silver stars (not as nightclubby as it sounds) mostly because I just realised the pink tshirt says "Get lucky tonight" on it :) and the cherise one says "strike it lucky" I never noticed before. So stars it is :)

Hmmm do you all think trousers should be worn? I was considering the G-string look, but if you insist on trousers then so be it :)

Ok you lot, I'm gong to show my age now ..........  whats the difference?  I always thought a thong and a g-string were the same - not that I'm ever likely to wear one (being all three F's - f*t, f*t and f*rty :rolleyes: ) 

I just call them F*nny patches :D  Even with having lost weight I cdannot for the life of me ever imagine wearing either, I like to have my whole rear confortably clothed and warm.  I would love to know what the difference is?

Until I had my first child I was a size six I wouldn't have consideed them then - I certainly wouldn't now.  Just imagine - a wedgie on purpose!!!!!
