My 2 labs - 2yrs & 1yrs - are both doing well generally with their walking on a loose lead, although we still walk them individually and have to do a fair amount of walking backwards, in circles, etc, especially with the younger one. However they both adore other dogs and when one appears, pull like steam trains in order to greet them. (Of course I always ask the owner if its OK for them to do so.) OH is finding this difficult. I presume since they're not supposed to get rewarded for pulling, the way to handle it is to walk away from the other dog - but surely that way they're never going to "meet and greet" other dogs except at their training classes, and obviously we don't want to discourage them from being friendly -
