
Sorry to hear about your girl, we had a very similar situation with one of our Bullmastiffs, she showed all the classic signs of pyometra & the vet said she was just coming into season, we said no way is that season discharge. We suggested pyo & they said no way was it pyo (god knows why, the signs were there ~ plain as day) they said she may have injured her neck or spine, which was why she seemed uncomfortable down her back & neck, they x-rayed her & ran some bloods.
Eventually after 5 days of hospitalisation & us getting very frustrated & almost insisting they confirm pyo & spay, they finally agreed & admitted it was pyo, by which time she was extremely ill & we could have lost her.
Did they apologise? what do you think, but they did agree that we wouldn't have to pay for all the tx (spine x-rays etc) as I said I wasn't paying for this! As it was totally unneccesary procedures.
