one of our little girls had to have an emergency spay today beause she had Pyo.  In 3 weeks she has een down the vets twice beause she wasn't herself, and we were worried maybe pyo because timing was right.  Fisrt vet said theres nothing wrong with her but gave us some antibiotics because she wasn't right and said just in case.  Second time, different vet, said it was something hormonal, properly just a bad
phantom (she did suffer from them) and then yesterday afternoon she started discharging, so on the phone to vet, said not to worry, she's not vomiting or being sick so it should be OK but is she starts being sick to take her in straight away.  She ended up discharging in puddles on the floor so phoned the vet up again and he said to bring her in in the morning and they will operate.  We now have a little girl lying around looking very sorry for herself with stiches in the tummy...bless her.

Now all we need is to contact KC and get permission to show.

Sorry to hear about your girl, we had a very similar situation with one of our Bullmastiffs, she showed all the classic signs of pyometra & the vet said she was just coming into season, we said no way is that season discharge. We suggested pyo & they said no way was it pyo (god knows why, the signs were there ~ plain as day) they said she may have injured her neck or spine, which was why she seemed uncomfortable down her back & neck, they x-rayed her & ran some bloods.

Eventually after 5 days of hospitalisation & us getting very frustrated & almost insisting they confirm pyo & spay, they finally agreed & admitted it was pyo, by which time she was extremely ill & we could have lost her.

Did they apologise? what do you think, but they did agree that we wouldn't have to pay for all the tx (spine x-rays etc) as I said I wasn't paying for this! As it was totally unneccesary procedures.

Sorry to hear about your poor girl, but with luck she'll be fine now, and don't worry, the permission to show is a formality.
