The cockerpoo/cockapoo is usually a cross of the American cocker and the Poodle (of various sizes) as these breeds share some common hereditary problems, and few, if any Cockerpoo breeder health test (usually with the excuse of "hybrid vigour/no known problem in the 'breed') it is entirely possible , indeed probable, that quite a percentage of the pups will suffer from some sort of health defect.
As Poodlebabe has said, as they are not a breed, but usually the result of a mating between the 2 breeds, there is no consistency of type. Any pup in any litter could look like either of the parents. So you may get something delightfully curly which sheds like and American cocker, or something as hairy as an American, but which hardly sheds (so knots up a lot!) Buying one or other of the parent breeds, you have a fairly good idea of what you pup will look like in adult hood, ,and what size it will turn out to be. With a crossbred puppy you dont know any of these things. There are often poodle crosses in the rescue kennels, if your heart is set on a cross why not give one of these dogs a much needed home, and dont line the pockets of the uncaring puppy farmer foisting this "breed" upon a naive public.
