Not really relevant to this thread, but I was so chuffed yesterday.
My latest pup was 4 months on Saturday, and along wityh her littermates never messed in the house once on their feet as had the benefit of back doodr open all the time. Of course as the weather got colder I had to shut the door and had to do the opening and inviting pup out to perform every half hour, and as long as I did this she was perfect. Of course if the door was closed when she needed to go and I iddn't notice, then I got a puddle on the floor.
Several times I had ben a little too late opening the door, but it was right after she had done it, and I would say Oh Lexiii! and tell her to go iout to wee outside. She would oblige by doing a tiny wee.
I was finding when I had left her for a short time when shopping etc, that accidents were getting less frequent (and she has never done a poo indoors).
I had taken the kids for Sunday lunch and on retuyrn was pleased to find no wee. She performed when let out. Later that evening I heard her barking in the kitchen, and there she was asking to go out, straight for a wee she went, at last the idea had clicked, and she knows how to ask to go out, and that doing it even on kitchen floor is not wanted. I was chuffed!!!
