Mine think their mesh crate (The light N Easy one) is great, but they are the sort that will settle if tethered anywhere.
I have found it great at Open and Companion shows where I was getting really fed up with having nowhere to tie a dog while in the ring with another. As I rely on lifts with friends taking a bulky metal cage proved impracticle.
Also it was great when staying in a hotel bing able to take dog in one hand, bag on shoulder and cage in other hand all in one go up to the room.
She happily slept in it while we were at the dinner dance, and after loo trip stayed in it all night. Mine are shut in a crate at home.
I would not leave a dog that is prone to chewing or one that would fret when you are out of site.
