If you are talking about the titre tests for checking whether the dog needs his annual vaccination boosters, then get your vet to send the blood direct to Glasgow Uni, not his usual commercial lab. It will be much cheaper. Last year I was charged the following:
Blood sampling (for the 3 titre tests) £6.11
Lab fee (Glasgow) inc. carriage £36.66
Lepto vaccination booster + annual checkup £20.03
TOTAL £62.80 inclusive of VAT
Go to the
Glasgow Lab website and download the Canine Sample Request Form and Canine Price List and give them to your vet. If you've done the donkey work for him, he can't really refuse to use this lab. This approach worked for me last year - my vet first quoted a price in excess of £100 also. Your bill may vary slightly because the sampling, lepto and checkup costs are determined by your vet.
