Our Yorkie - Pixie - is coming up for 6 months. She's been acting a bit strange this week, but today she's actually been yelping once every now and then for no apparent reason. She's not bleeding or even spotting as far as we can tell but I was wondering if it could be her first season causing her pain and/or confusion. Could that be possible or is it more likely to be something else entirely? I appreciare a message board may not be a quick enough means to assess this situation, and I may end up having to take her to the vet today before I get a reply, but if anyone's online now, I would really appreciate some feedback.
Thanks,
Jim

As Jeangenie says, seasons don’t usually cause any pain although can make a bitch irritable. Try wiping her with a toilet tissue immediately after standing after a sleep so any discharge has drained down. You will soon see then if there is any discharge.
In view of the yelping I think it advisable for you to get to a vet because there would appear to be something causing pain somewhere. Please let us know how things go.
