Are you planning on getting into Sled sports or Canicross etc?
Siberian Huskies are not an easy breed to own purely as a Pet
They are very active, yet are very unreliable off lead, with their need to run easily becoming list, or getting into danger/trouble.
Experienced owners and breeders NEVER let them off lead, as they also have a very strong prey drive..
They are keen escapologists, usually needing jump climp.and dig proof enclosures.
Many.Husky breeders suggest those interested in their breed attend Sled.rallies to see what Huskies need.
Those.I know in the breed often suggest a less high maintenance Spitz breed for those who are attracted to the breed.
The larger, but less hyper Malamute is often easier.
Even better purely as a Companion would be the White Samoyed(Reindeer herder/sled dog),
My own Wolf coloured breed (Norwegian Elkhound). There is also the larger Swedish Elkhound (Jamthund) which is not recognised by UK Kennel Club, but there are a few in UK, or can be imported from Europe, as can the West.Siberian and East Siberian Laikas. These are all large game trackers.
The Eurasier was bred to be a Companion breed, and cimes in many colours.
Down in size you have the Wheaten coloured Norwegian Buhund, Finnish Laphund.
