Please feel free to move this to general but as it concerns post whelping fluid stains I thought it best to put it here....
I have always used the green backed, white vet bedding for my litters. Not only does it show up any causes for concern with regards to the after effects of whelping but also indicates to me if we're having above normal leakage and to change it more frequently.
I've also had potential owners comment on how clean the pups and surroundings are because the white forces you to be more vigilant :)
However, the last two sheets I've had, don't seem to be coming out as clean as the previous ones. I haven't changed how I wash them (ariel tab, oxyi clean whites powder and two cap fulls of zoflora) and the supplier is the same.
Also, the green backing is still hard. In the past it has gone nice and soft, making the whole piece more malleable and preferred by the girls. It's been easier to cut for sending off with the pups. I'm thinking that the hard green backing means that the piece isn't moving as well in the machine to enable better washing and these aren't small in size (48" x 48").
I have put it on the synthetic setting in the machine and hot washed it.
Any other suggestions please?
