I can remember being given the advice to have a bath in warm salty water to help heal my nether regions after giving birth when I had a tear and had to have stitches.

I remember my mum mentioning that her dad used this.  Mum was born in the 1920's and I think this was a method used "in  the olden days" just because they had nothing better then!  I've never been one for using old wives tales methods.  Give me modern medicine any day.

Yes, I bought a 10 kilo bag from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Epsom-Salts-10-Medical-Grade/dp/B00D3YR6CK/ref=sr_1_5?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1453997400&sr=1-5&keywords=epsom+salts (cheapest way to buy it) and used it in the bath to help heal the ankle I broke. Brilliant stuff.

Good for any aches and pains and helping with cramp. The old remedies are still good ones

My Grandad thought I should give up teaching when I got married in 1984. He was practically apoplectic when I had the kids and carried on!

yep that's the way it was. the women was always the one who suffered and often her family would disown her too. we may not have it all right but have come a long way

Epsom salts in the bath enables the skin to absorb magnesium which is a help to joints and uscles. its the quickest way for our bodies to absorb the mineral
