has anyone heard or tried epsom salt or salt baths for arthritcs and pain
came across it in nightingale seris books their by donna douglas
its 7 ficton books based in 1930s throw war
they are fab read
it was saying that nurses gave pasints salt baths
just wondering if anyone had salt bath or heard of it???
i have googled it one website said to use 3 teacups epsom.salts in bath
only time i have used epsom salts is tubing horses foot for abscess to.dry pus out
will be trying epsom salts in bath

I can remember being given the advice to have a bath in warm salty water to help heal my nether regions after giving birth when I had a tear and had to have stitches.

I remember my mum mentioning that her dad used this.  Mum was born in the 1920's and I think this was a method used "in  the olden days" just because they had nothing better then!  I've never been one for using old wives tales methods.  Give me modern medicine any day.

my gran was born in 1932 i have been quizzing her about old ways
i.would rather try old ways and hompathy than mordern ways i am getting fed up with modern ways

Good for any aches and pains and helping with cramp. The old remedies are still good ones

The guving up some jobs when married went on for many more decades than the 30 'shttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage_bar  this will give you information .It was right up to the end of the 50 ' in some occupations

My Grandad thought I should give up teaching when I got married in 1984. He was practically apoplectic when I had the kids and carried on!

was watching call midwife on sunday it was shocking that pregnut unmarried school teacher was thrown out her digs and fired from  teaching for been pregnut and unmarried

had epson salt bath last night it really helped pain in hip and back

I have osteoarthritis, I find what helps is baby oil in the bath, particularly in the mornings when my bones and muscles are extremely painful.

yep that's the way it was. the women was always the one who suffered and often her family would disown her too. we may not have it all right but have come a long way

Epsom salts in the bath enables the skin to absorb magnesium which is a help to joints and uscles. its the quickest way for our bodies to absorb the mineral

Just remember baby oil will make the bath slippy, don't go falling over and doing yourself an injury xx

thank you yes .i am used to working with baby oil i use baby oil on horses mane tails etc had few slips in stable with bottles been knocked over etc
