She was allowed home today but what a pitiful sight. Both cruciates had completely ruptured so absolutely cage rest apart for toileting. She is so hangdog bless her, but no weakening it is cage, cage, cage. She has a sling they have let me borrow to help her walk without too much strain and a harness so the support will come from the centre back and the sling further back. I have taken her into the garden twice but no sign of a wee, I think she will wait until she is desperate enough to go while on a lead, harness and sling.
She has a tall collar thing as recommended by Tatty-Ead in another post that is due to be delivered Tuesday, so until then she has the 'lampshade' which I was warned by the specialist this morning 'Is Essential' as any infection from licking could go right into the bone where the screws are, which would be very serious indeed.
I am having a hip replacement but have put my op on hold until she is better as my dogs needs must come first. When she is healed sufficiently then I will make arrangements for my hip as I am likely to need the cage then !!!!
Oh the joy of doggies - little darlin's
