Off to the vets later with Betty (9 in Feb).
She has been fine no noticeable issues health wise but she started moulting a bit about three to four weeks ago. Nothing strange in that but she has a single coat so doesnt moult excessively like my other girls have .
It didn't click until last week that something was wrong as the amount of hair on the floor wasn't a concern until I realise as Puds is n longer with us why on earth was there so much hair as she was the mounting monster.
I then noticed some bald patches and having a good look all over the patches are all over the place but mainly legs , under carriage and neck. The hair is now coming out in large lumps and it is the undercoat and main hair.
My first thoughts were mange as she has a couple of sores but I am now thinking cushings although she hasn't got all the symptoms .
Large water intake- no noticeable diff
Frequent urination and possible incontinence- no noticeable diff
Ravenous appetite- yes but difficult to say if she is worse (being a Lab) but she is a lot more protective of her food and can follow on with action after warning growls
Pot belly-slightly but not that noticeable
Thin skin- there us a change to the look of her skin
Hair loss or recurrent skin diseases - she has had a couple of sores and patches of bare skin over the last 12 months but that was treated as exzema
Muscle wastage- not noticeable small working lab so always let quite lean
Lethargy- no really as she is a tigger type lab
Excessive panting- yes she has had episodes of excessive panting but put that down to when she has got herself wound up as she can get over excited .
Let's see what my get says I think we will be full bloods anyway and get some skin scraps done at the same time.
