My Mam has a nearly 9 year old EBT, absolute beautiful dog in everyway his temprement is amazing. Since October he has been taking himself off upstairs to bed for a lot of the day. This she put down to her spinone pup being too boisterous and not giving him peace and quiet. One day he had blood on his legs which my Mam didn't know where it had come from, I said possibly a nose bleed when she was out. Everything else seemed fine until 2 weeks ago when quite a large lump appeared on his nose when she had been out in the afternoon. My mam thought maybe he had knocked it on the marble hearth as he had been sneezing for a couple of days.
The lump hadn't gone down so he was taken to the vet on Monday, who suspected an abcess or heamatoma, she tried to drain it and did get a bit of blood out but not loads, the lump is golf ball size by now. The vet asked how he had been and my mam explained he was off colour the vet felt him and his glands in his neck and legs are up, very enlarged. She then explained that it may be leukemia and he is booked in for a biopsy on Monday.
I've been over and seen him today and my Mam said he had had a nose bleed this morning and the blood was down his legs , he is now making a quiet snorting noise now and again, then he went upstairs to bed out of the way.
The things I guess I'm asking for is people's opinions of this lump being linked to the possible leukemia. I feel that the lump is bad and it is worrying me, I can't see how he is going to get over this. Any advice / opinions greatly appreciated.
We are so worried :(
