I recently took one of my dogs in to the vet because she couldn't stop sneezing. The young girl who examined my bitch said that her temp was normal, so no reason to give antibiotics. I felt as if I had wasted my time seeing the vet.
Got out into the car park, and the sneezing was violent. Snot flying everywhere. I got into the car and placed the dog on my lap. She did a huge sneeze and I saw a tiny amount of green poking out of the nostril that had been running. Chihuahuas have pretty small nostrils and only a tiny amount of green to be seen. I tried getting hold of it with my nails. As I slowly pulled, I saw a grass blade emerging, about 3" long. Huge for the size of dog.
I took the dog and piece of grass back in to the hospital and asked to see the same vet. She immediately prescribed antibiotics.
