Not sure but am thinking my 12 1/2 yr old Boston terrier saved us from something.
She's pretty much deaf and doesn't see all that well.

Yesterday we took them out for their walks which isn't to far cause the Boston's can't walk to far.
T-Bone was very excited to go for her walk as usual got them all together & out the door we went. Walked
through the school yard thought we would go to the store. As we walked to the pedestrian cross walk just b4 hubby presses
the button T-Bone started screaming. He had it pressed so waved the cars on and we thought maybe a muscle spasm or she got bit by something.
Nothing she just kept screaming almost sounded like Go Home. She kept trying to pull away and go the way we came. So we decided lets go back home, she stopped screaming.
She literately pulled me home - Now she always walks nice on lead perfect heel. Not this time she pulled & pulled ran to the end of her leash circled back
as if to say hurry up and would dart off again as fast as she could. She did this all the way to the house. Even had to dart up the stairs to be the 1st one in so I let her leash go so she
could get inside. Normally when we get back from a walk she lies on the grass and I say come on T-Bone lets go in the house.. Once inside she paced around to the front door and wouldn't leave
that area of the house. She was very agitated. Called our son since he was working to make sure all was well, told him what was up and about almost 2 hrs later she calmed down.
Even text-ed our daughter to make sure all was well.

Later on that evening we took her & Moose to the store same way as earlier and all was fine. Couldn't take Junior cause one outing a day is enough for
his legs.

Hubby & I were thinking maybe something would have happened at that moment & she sensed something or seen the future and had to get us all
out of there & fast. I always trust my dogs. She was the only one who acted like that.

I probably wouldn't be looking into the spooky aspect that you are, but into a medical reason for this I would have been so worried something had happened to her to cause that, physically or mentally?

A full vet check would be my first thoughts here dollface.

If she were not almost deaf I may think as another avenue that some kind of high pitched, sonic noise had caused this but as your other dogs did not react I guess not unless it is something her hearing picked up on another level?

As you've even ruled out the spooky side, everyone is fine and no accident/crime had happened on your route at that time, I really would think medical. :-)

Thanks

We were kinda thinking medical but she is totally fine in herself. She is acting, eating, sleeping all the same.
She just wanted to be home that day something spooked her & I truly believe had to get us all out of there.

I was kinda thinking maybe something might of happened if we crossed the road that day- but she turned us around so
in that changed the future.

If it happens again we def will be getting her looked at- :-)

She didn't get stung by something did she??   Maybe a passing vehicle rattled in a strange way that spooked her - you never know with dogs sometimes what noises they hear.  I have been wondering why my pup suddenly startles and starts woofing - I think it maybe something as simple as a chair rocking outside - it is windy now after a long period of still weather.

I would query medical too, possibly being stung, or even hearing a noise that spooked her - you say she's 'pretty much deaf' but does that mean maybe not totally?  When my oldie was here she was almost deaf but not completely, and she did react to noises she hadn't done for her whole life before.  We got caught in a short storm once and she absolutely freaked at the thunder - I knew her from 18 months old and she never gave two hoots about any noises, she actually enjoyed trying to chase fireworks and it wasn't that loud that day but she bolted for the car and was reactive to thunder and fireworks after that.

I would Vet too.  Our ESS starting screaming out of the blue one day in our own basement.  We Vetted, thought she had a broken neck at one point, specialist Vet clinic could not confirm but there was no doubt she was in excruciating pain.  Best we could come up with was a pinched nerve in her neck from attacks by two teams of huskies a month earlier.  The pain episodes were random screaming fits.  It seemed if she moved a certain way the nerve, or whatever it was, would hurt.  She was on pain meds the rest of her life.

Another thought, was it wet out?  Have you heard of dogs being shocked by electricity escaping into pavement?  It's happened in Toronto more than once, and I think a dog has died.  I heard of it mostly in winter though.  People were warned to not let their dogs step on subway grates and manhole covers.  Humans have also been shocked.

The link is to one report.  Very scary.

There were no cars there the moment hubby pressed the cross walk- but since we were standing there cars came so waved them on.

The other thought I had was maybe something from the cross walk from where she was walking in the ground- like electricity
but Junior never reacted to anything.

Nope she has been normal ever since. She just wanted to get us home fast and just weird how she paced to the window and door
like she was waiting for something. My son arrived about 2 hrs later and she was fine. Yes I think she is pretty if not totally deaf,
have done all sorts of noise levels & not a flinch. She is usually scared of thunder and now it doesn't even phase her at all.

We even did the exact same walk later on that night, I went to where I was when hubby pressed the cross walk & nothing
all was good and she was just happy to be going for her walk.

I dunno def weird- but if it ever happens again then I will def be getting her checked out- she is back to her old self :-)
