Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Stake classes at champ shows

Can anyone tell me why stake classes at some championship shows  are the same price as a first entry as breeds with CC's but at some shows it's non CC price? They all award prize money which is £20 in cc priced show and £ 10 non cc but surely this doesn't warrant full CC price?  I know they are cheaper as a second entry, but what a difference between shows.

The prices charged are up to the committee of the staging society and they charge according to their needs although I think they do sometimes overestimate their needs!

I agree, and have argued this for years.

It doesn't make sense after all the winner of a stakes class can't compete for the CC.

It's a bit of a nonsense that someone with a non CC breed can enter a breed class plus the stakes class for less than someone entering stakes only.

You could say enter the breed also, but of course it may be that the breed judge has bred your dog or given your dog a CC previously (or doesn't like your dog), and to support the society/enjoy your day out/like the stakes judge (or they like your dog), and wish to enter  stakes only, when that is allowed.
