Does a bitch get her next season early after having the mismate injection?A breeder i as hoping to possibly get a pup from on her bitches next season accidently was caught on this season.A lady at my training class said this will cause the bitch to have her next season early,is this true? thanks

depends on whether the old Delvesteron or the newer Alizin was used.  the older product is used for disrupting the cycle so more likely to mess up timings.

I believe Alizin should not do this, but as bitches can delay seasons or come in early anyway who knows.

All i know is that 2 injections were given 24hours apart but i can ask her what it as called. The reason i ask is because if it came a couple of months early the puppy being ready for his/her new home could coincide with me being out of the country.

The mismate injection was called Alizin, has anyone had a bitch who has had this and the next season has been early or late?

Ages ago I had to have one of these, must have been the old one. I don't remember it doing anything timewise to the next season but I do remember it prolonged her existing season. Dragged on for 6 weeks :(

That is how the old one worked restarted the season.  Alizin works differently to expel the contents of the uterus, as opposed to mess with the hormones.

I used Alizin last November and my bitch came out of season straight away, assume its an anti progesterone?
My bitch is usually every 9mths. No signs yet..

Pharmacodynamic properties
Aglepristone is a synthetic steroid counteracting the effect of progesterone by competing with this hormone at the level of the uterine receptors, resulting in abortion (or resorption) within 7 days after administration.
Aglepristone does not modify progesterone, prostaglandins, oxytocin or cortisol plasma concentration within 24 hours after its administration but it induces a discharge of prolactin within 12 hours.
In vitro, the affinity of aglepristone for the progesterone receptors in the uterus of the dog is 3 times higher than that of progesterone.
The relative binding affinity of aglepristone to glucocorticoid receptors is similar to that of dexamethasone but aglepristone has antagonistic properties.
