My friends at work have started to lose weight together..we didn't want to pay for WWatchers so we are holding our own weigh ins and watching out for what each other is eating etc...we are calling ourselves Wobble Watchers:-)

My problem is I LOVE food....cooking is a just as much a stress reliever as eating is....but I've noticed I've cut down on the junk....crisps.... home-made cakes, cookies and fattening meals..So far I've lost 7ish pounds but with all the veggies and fruit I am starving....at first it wasn't so bad as I had the food poisoning and was not exactly wanting to eat....now I feel better I would like to know what foods or recipes you all have (apart from porridge :-) ) that is low fat lower calorie but make you feel full for ages...I would like to cut out refined food as well such as white bread/rice etc...
I am full of ideas and have loads of recipes but unfortunately they are not the best when wanting to lose weight..hence my need for wobble watchers in the first place...
I'm doing the salads...fruit snacks....mainly veggie dinners with some lean meats....with one or two smaller than normal servings of higher fat foods such as champ with real butter...(far less of a portion than normal...one or two spoonfuls rather than a plateful plus rest rest of my dinner...:-) )

Cheers and thanks

Oh and I was so surprised that some of the "healthy" wholemeal seeded breads were close to 160 calories per slice...:-O

Fish and chicken are great. Stir fry's are brilliant - all sorts you can do with them, cooked properly the veg etc stays fresh and healthy and you don't boil all the goodness from them......and they can be very filling. Raw carrots and peppers etc with houmous dip is handy for snacking.
Don't waste money on diet meals that you can buy, the prepacked ones. If they say low fat it usually means they will be full of sugar etc to give them more flavour. Brown rice is better too and to cheer it up try adding lightly fried chopped mushrooms and spring onions and then some cooked peas. Add a knob of butter to bind it all - that with a nice salmon fillet - yum.

Why doesn't one of you join the Weight Watchers website and you all pay equal amount for the month?  Then you can see all the recipes etc.

I base alot of my curries and pasta sauces on tinned tomatos .... much healthier, and really cheap too :)

My hubby has lost 17lb in a month , all I am doing is when I prepare his lunch for work is instead of bread and butter for sandwiches , I have been giving him weight watcher wraps with a scrapping of philadelphia light and salad. He has a low fat yoghurt and twiglets and a piece of fruit. It seems quite a lot but he doesn't have breakfast and the calories and saturated fat are really low.

For his tea I have been buying a variety of ready meals , which I add a selection of vegetables to so that he is filled up.
I've had to watch the ready meals , sometimes the ordinary ones are more healthy than the slimming ones. I tried one the other day which was morrison smart eat? I think thats what theyre called fish pie. Less than 400 calories and it filled me up.

Another good thing I've found he likes is Ainyslie cuppa soups some have only 40 odd calories and if he's hungry at supper time he'll have one
I'm not allowed to diet at the minute as I'm pregnant but I think if he can do , I'm going to try after the baby is born , I don't know if I'll have the will power he has got though.
