FF - if it's what you want then go for it.  I was just trying to present a balanced view of what you can expect so you've got some good information to make your decision on.

My back is covered in ink, and I'm getting a new epic piece started next week - it starts on my foot and will end up on my hip - so obviously my opinion is 'go for it' but I've seen (and heard) a lot of people having to stop half way through a foot tattoo because of the pain and then not being happy with the result because they didn't find the right tattooist.

I think it just comes down to if you really want a tatty then go for it, its your body. What I did b4 I got one I found the one I really liked and staired at it for about 6 months b4 I even booked it, then that was like another 6 months of waiting (hard to get into the certain tattoo artist I like). I basically had a good year to decide if I really wanted one and if I realy wanted that one and where I was putting it.

Another idea is to get a rub on one you like (just add water tattoo) and put it where you want ur tatty and just look at it- you'll no if this is something you want on ur body.

My frogs are real pictures of actual frogs and do look exactly like them- he did an amazing job and the color is awsome :-)

My daughter went and got paw prints on her wrist 2 lil ones which I allowed- she is 18 and she wants a potrait of Taz (dog passed away) I said fine and thats it till you move out. Since she cannot get in for a very long time she wanted to get all these other ones and one being a sleeve, and I said No. I feel she is way to young to decide if she wants all these tatty's and this way when she moves out and she still wants them then go ahead. But as long as she is living at home then only the 2 and thats all- cause I think when she gets older she will regret them.

The only thing I personally don't care for is tatty's on a womens front- and I don't like tatty's up on the neck at all- JMOP :-) Oh ya not to high on sleaves on girls but I dunno. All mine are on my back and the memorial on the leg- I don't regret any of them- I want to get my whole back done as well as my ribs- I just think they are nice.

It made me smile last night when my daughter and her friends were all discussing if they should have anothe but they must not show in the imaginary atm wedding dress. I noticed my son disappeard rather quickly as his girlfriend of 4 years was in on this conversation too

Dont worry I am having no problem with people giving opinions they are being general not personal.

Have you thought about what ever design you want and then have this done in henna first and keep topping it up and see how you feel, so not perminant and you can see what it looks like with strappy sandles etc..

Don`t let the mid life crisis get you,go treat yourself to a fab outfit or a new hair style, less permanent than a tat.Mid life is good anyway, all that wisdom and confidence can be very attractive, and advancing age is a great excuse for a bit of self indulgence. My 70th birthday  present to myself was silk sheets and pillow cases!

Tatty is a term I use if something looks old, rough or messy. I am not sure of any other meanings for the word as that is the only one I use it for !

Tatty means scruffy, worn out, shabby; a 'tatty old jumper' that's only fit for the bin. It also means potato ... and there's 'cheap tat' - something tasteless and vulgar.

Thinking of potatoes stuffed down a woman's front here!  :)  :)  I have a funny sense of humour or what?  :) :)

Another one here who thinks that tattoos look awful :( It wouldn't be so bad if they were easily removable.
