
Stripping is better for the look of the dog, and you get the proper harsh weatherproof coat. But I groom one that before they came to me had been clipped so I carry on clipping her and she looks fine like that. You may find the coat loses its harsh weatherproofing, but if she's not being shown and if perhaps she has a little coat if her clipped coat absorbs rain more, she should be fine. I do enjoy handstripping and it looks much more natural and blends into the skirt so much more nicely, but sometimes even if the dog has always been stripped they really just don't like it, and if that's the case it seems a shame to insist if you aren't showing. The dog doesn't care if they have the correct coat or not after all!
