:-D It is mainly, IMHO, a thought of 'how dare you go there, aren't mine good enough for you?' So it is partly jealousy, partly competition. There is also the cliques in breeds. If you start off in one camp you are not expected to go to another one for a new puppy. Even if the lines are similar.
