
I do think you need it actually demonstrated before you try it yourself. It would be so easy to fill the lungs by mistake. I had a vet demonstrate for me, and soon realised that even the experts can get it wrong.
I have found that it is extremely difficult with the tiny tots, and would much prefer to syringe feed (or bottle.) Over the years I have tried just about every variety of feeder, even the most expensive I could get (which was useless.)
Rather than syringe, I have found the cheap and cheerful LACTOL bottles - sold at PAH just right for the toys. The teats are just the right size for mine.
