I am looking for someone who can either show me how to tube feed toy breed pups or am looking for a surrogate in the Bucks/Beds area.

Have 5 one week old pups. mums milk has dried up and have been trying for the past 48 hours to bottle and sryringe them which is proving very very difficult, they simply will not accept the teat and i have tried several different shapes and sizes now and syringing them was hazzadous as they keep choking. I think it is only the life aid that i am dribbling onto their tongues that is keeping them going but obviously this cant go on like this.

Mum is still being a good mum to them and topping and tailing them which is why i would prefer to tube feed so i can keep them with her. But a good surrogate might be best for them in the long run?
My vets have no one in the surgery who know how to tube feed.

any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

I do think you need it actually demonstrated before you try it yourself.  It would be so easy to fill the lungs by mistake.  I had a vet demonstrate for me, and soon realised that even the experts can get it wrong.

I have found that it is extremely difficult with the tiny tots, and would much prefer to syringe feed (or bottle.)  Over the years I have tried just about every variety of feeder, even the most expensive I could get (which was useless.)

Rather than syringe, I have found the cheap and cheerful LACTOL bottles - sold at PAH just right for the toys.  The teats are just the right size for mine.
