we were at primary school so I think not! We certainly had them in the 60's and 70's but can anyone tell me when they discontinued? They are all wooden slats now and I see that there are moves afoot to ban those too for under 12's Also if you could point me in the direction of a photograph showing the spring things I'd be very grateful.> Whilst having this memory tour of our childhood we also remembered some odd table condiment called Atrixo/Ataxo/Atora or somesuch. My Aunt and Uncle had this at every meal and I think it was a savoury seasoning salt and pepper combo.
> Does anyone remember the bunk beds with springs in? The ones that would strip you bald if you sat up on the bottom bunk, suspending you by the hair until you could tug it out or your sister 'rescued' you with a pair of scissors and a murderous grin?

We would have had the bunkbeds up untill I was about 10 yrs old - about 23 years ago. So we would have had the bunks in the mid to late 80s.> recalling how our brother was banned from the bottom bunk for pinging us out of the top by pushing up with his feet...

> My sister and I were reminiscing recently about these instruments of torture and recalling how our brother was banned from the bottom bunk for pinging us out of the top by pushing up with his feet...
