The heating is on all the time but we dont have centeral heating.. we have eletric heaters so they generally keep the place warm but turn off and if i had a door open or similar we loose heat pretty fast.
her bedroom with the pups was always kept warm, i fiddled with the heater to mean that it never shut off. :) shes her normal self in respect to does the doggy dance when you get in, dropping her ball on me as if she wants me to throw it for her. She seems to have totally forgotten the last week.
I am keeping her on the calcium supliments as he said even though she was "normal" she was at the lower end of normal, the help i gave her with milk, eggs, supliments may have just kept an edge off her and for the pups to not be suckling for 36 hours put her back in the normal ranges.
either way. this will never happen again. I just cant deal with this again.
please dont beat yourself up over this, i dont know if you read my previous post, but maybe, just maybe mum could sense something was wrong with the puppies that you couldnt see:-(

I'm in agreement with you, I personally wouldn't mate this girl again, it's not just dogs some of us too our bodies just don't cope well with the hormonal changes of pregnancy and post pregnancy. Your girls body probably did not make enough calcium, she found pregnancy emotionally and pysically hard and she didn't cope well.
I would never put her through that again. You weren't to know how badly this would effect her, so don't beat yourself up over something you could not know. Just keep an eye on her, I'm still not happy with her shivering, but you have done all you can do, two vets etc. Perhaps she is just emotionally drained and frightened along with her calcium levels just being on the lower level of normal.
Just continue to watch her and I would retire her indefinitely from the breeding circle.

I have nothing to add except my deep condolences.
My bitch managed to raise 12 pups but we had some hairy moments and the thought of losing even one was intolerable so I cannot even start to think how you are feeling.
I am so sorry.
im so sorry to hear this, i actually shed a tear reading that.
hope your ok
