OH said goodbye this morning and went off to work, two minutes later he was back - he couldn't find the car!  So we all went out to look at where it should have been - and someone has taken it!!!

If you see a 20 year old Rover 214Si lying around, it might just be ours :(

He'd only just put petrol in it, and the Tax disc was about a week old :(

4 good tyres and a boot full of watercolour materials (His job)

Police were very helpful - asked if there'd been any other car thefts in the area   Good job he was on the phone or I'd have let rip at that

I had a car stolen many years ago. The first we knew about it was when the police came knocking on our door asking where our car was. Er, we left it parked outside the house! No, it was in the dighty burn, just a mile or so away. The little darlings had decided to go for a spin, across the local playing fields, through a building site, and then decided to try to jump the burn ( think big drop on either side :-( )They didn't make it and left us to find a way to remove the car. It didn't like its swim :-( It was only a Mini Clubman Estate too, not a powerful car, or a 'cool' one.

I hope you get yours back in a better condition than we did.

The thieves steal older cars because they are easier to break into and start nowadays, rather  than the newer faster cars that is why they break into houses to pinch keys as they cant really start them without the keys.

We saw a poster in a sweet shop window for a stolen car it was around 3ft x3ft written in bold very noticable made you read it  , they were asking for sightings of thier stolen car , worth thinking about if you desperately want the car or stuff in the car found / returned.

Oh no, I'm so sorry :(

We had a car stolen a few years back. My OH had bought an older car (VW mk2 scirocco) and spent a lot of money and a lot of time doing it up (re-built the engine etc..). It was his pride and joy. The first journey he took it on was a fishing trip, him & his mate went fishing for a night in it (several hours drive away). They returned to the fishing car park the next morning, to find only the 'crook-lock' in the space where the car had been left. They were stranded with all thier fishing kit........

They trecked a few miles (having to lug all of thier kit with them) to find a phone box and I thought they were having a sick joke when they told me the car had been stolen. They convinced me they were telling the truth so I arranged for my mum to go and pick them up.

My OH was so angry........ LOL, his mate can now laugh when telling how my OH had a temper tantrum and lobbed his fishing kit over a hedge, only to have to climb over to retrieve it once he had calmed down :-D

The car was found the next day - completely burnt out :( :( :( The police had thier suspicions as to the joy-riders that took it, as there was a group of kids doing this often in the area, but no proof to tie them to it and they were too young to drive anyway

Completely MADENING. Light fingered little scumbags

I do hope you find your car in one piece and soon, it's an awful feeling. Even though it is 'only a car' you still get that chilly feeling of being violated somehow and left feeling uneasy :(

Best of luck.

Oh no I am so sorry it is an awful feeling when someone has taken something not mention the inconvenience nice of the police to ask if any others around had been stolen !!

Oh no that is terrible Dill, there are some scumbags out there.

Not sure finding her would be a good thing her unless she's driveable :(  the cost of towing her back will be more than she's actually worth :(  Gutted at losing her as she's been part of the family for about 12 years and has done sterling service taking us  all over UK to the dog shows, camping etc.  Is very reliable/comfortable, but nothing to look at - we don't do 'pride and joy' with cars, too many scumbags about willing to scratch, dent and try to rip off wing mirrors round here :(

Police said they'd call up and do house to house enquiries, but I don't believe in fairy stories :(

I had an old Cortina MK11. Some one kept putting a note under wipers asking if I would sell .Then it got stolen so I assume he helped himself... I loved that car...but with the insurance I got a Triumph Dolomite so I forgave the thief!!

Hope OP gets sorted quickly.

Just to put some positivity into stolen vehicles my son had his motor bike stolen in December it was locked up and in the right place under a lamp post,a very angry son reported it to the police and insurance compamy.
About 10 days later I took an amazing call from the police saying they had found it about 15 mins away damaged but not irretrievably (sp) so
It wasn't worth going through the insurance as it is his first year and he would have lost his ncb , the premium is already £1000 pa so he has set to with the manual and a bit of help from his uncle when he could and is now back on the road again. I am very proud of him for being able to do this and sitting out in the cold garage mainly on his own to get it sorted. He sourced  the parts mainly from ebay and saved a lot of money
It still cost him a fair bit including paying the company who held it for the police but at least he is mobile again.
We are all amazed but sometimes things do work out but I think the policeman who rang me was as amazed as me
