Sounds like panomec could be similar to , if not the same family as Ivermectin, which as Ivomec is used in sheep & cattle for parasite control. I would not be happy about a vet that used it on dogs! Some breeds have a serious reaction to ivermectin. So much so that I wouldn't even use a spot-on for my dog (one of the breeds that can react to it) that contains a relative of ivermectin, Selamectin which
is licenced for dogs.
Also injecting it is a bit risky; it is often used for small animals to control mites and I have hear horror stories where vets got the dosage wrong. In small animals it can be used topically, just a tiny spot on the ear, and works as well.... but many vets don't know that and still insist on injecting it.
Why not just use Stronghold spot-on, which controls mites and is safe for dogs?
