If you go to any Ch show you will see here is a very big variation between handlers outfits, depending a lot of age, breed and taste of course! then , some shows (eg Crufts) are amuch dressier afair than others. Things to consider are:- Don't wear the same colour as your dog or it can "disappear" into your outfit (which you mentioned); don't wear anything to fussy or which will flop over the dog, dont wear anything which you don't feel comfortable and confident in - you don't want to be pulling up, pulling down, checking fastenings etc; not too short as it does not look good if you have to bend down to the dog; not too long as you don't want to catch your heel in it or trip when moving (that is if you are going for a skirt). Remember you want the judge to be looking at the dog, not you, so try for a neat, unobtrusive style which compliments your pug with flattish shoes so you can move well. Sorry can't be more specific, but the rest comes down to personal taste.
