I was thinking about this today.

What do you bring with you to the shows? Appart from your pug?!

also what would you think is best to wear for open and champion shows? Im 25 and i have seen some of the dress that some people wear but im really not into the style! What is acceptable?! I heard you have to wear something thats not the same colour as your dog, so black is out of the question, i love black aswel its smart! ;-(

Thanks

Lynne.

If you go to any Ch show you will see here is a very big variation between handlers outfits, depending a lot of age, breed and taste of course!  then , some shows (eg Crufts) are amuch dressier afair than others.  Things to consider are:-  Don't wear the same colour as your dog or it can "disappear" into your outfit (which you mentioned); don't wear anything to fussy or which will flop over the dog, dont wear anything which you don't feel comfortable and confident in - you don't want to be pulling up, pulling down, checking fastenings etc; not too short as it does not look good if you have to bend down to the dog; not too long as you don't want to catch your heel in it or trip when moving (that is if you are going for a skirt).  Remember you want the judge to be looking at the dog, not you, so try for a neat, unobtrusive style which compliments your pug with flattish shoes so you can move well.  Sorry can't be more specific, but the rest comes down to personal taste.

How about Dark plum / Brown / Dark grey?

Good luck with your showing, it is fun if you remember one thing. That you always take the best dog home at the end of the show, and if you have won something it's an added extra.

I have a mainly black dog and  also from colours already mentioned you could look at red, pink, dark green, light grey, orange, white, you name it anything but a dark colour. I would stay away from black, dark grey etc, even to a certain extent dark brown..
I got myself a lovely trouser suit from Next last year, not that its been lucky as everytime i've worn it i've been chucked..:-(... So for Crufts this year i'll be wearing something else.

I know that some people in my breed wear black trousers and a different coloured top and also very smart dark blue jeans with a bright coloured jacket, this has never gone against them in the ring - yes they do generally have lovely dogs too.
