Nope not there this year showing the poochini's...
Instead having 'fun' at my 5yo neice's birthday party.....
But may still have time to pop down to have a peek :)
As the venue isn't too far away from the party..can I be cheeky..and sneak off to a dog show hmmm :D

Good luck to those showing,
Hope those who are judging and those showing outside don't get too cold...
Still minus 1 at 11.30am this morning and I'm just 15 mins away from the venue.
So wrap up warm and hope none of you have to be outside in the wind tunnel of a ring behind the sports hall
as that is normally FREEZING...

it was freeezing outside. Not goof when you have a shorthaired dog!!! However, can't moan as we went away with BAVNSC gundog and group 2 as well so a good day. The funny thing was we asked the judge to judge us outside as the indoor rings were so small but by the time she started on the group all I was wishing was that we were inside again!!!! lol

Not a great ring for us inside for the Gordons but you did make us work :)  Even though it was freezing outside the Gordons would have shown much better out there!

You had a good entry :)

Lovely to see Twiggy and Stig - the girls didn't stop talking about them !  very smitten with them!

Nightmare home journey for us though - car broke down - so glad I had AA cover - but 2 kids and 3 dogs broken down 20 miles from home!

Drive shaft has gone - although at one point rumoured to be the gearbox - diagnosed by flashing a torch under the bonnet!!!

Got home sorted out the dogs who were angels (as were the kids) whilst waiting for the tow truck and decided a pub dinner in order for us all !  Today I am feeling very tired though!  But we got home safe and everyone is ok that's all that counts really.

Pleased with my girls performance, as only her second show.  she coped very well in such a crowded noisy hall.

I thought she did outstanding considering her second show and first in such a venue Jill !  Hope you feel better soon though :)

- By rachelsetters Date 01.02.10 13:13 UTC

Very small ring for aussies would have been better outside dispite the cold.

I judged flatcoats at Henley and our indoor ring was tiny, but we asked to go outside and Doug the secretary told me that the centre only allowed the show to put rings infront of the building which they could not use due to the layer of ice covering it. On the way in I saw a gordon setter crossing the ice spreadeagle on it! Unfortunately Health and Safety forbids ice clearance....

I asked doug if I found a space outside could we use it for a ring. He said yes as long as the centre did not mind. So I went out and found a carpark in which there was a motorcycle training lesson going on. So I went into it and stood there watching for a few minutes, and the instructor came across and asked if I needed help.... lol So I told him I needed the car park and was he likely to finish soon. He was really good and said he would finish the lessons inside so we could have the car park. Doug furnished us with a table and two chairs, and th flatcoats ended up with the biggest ring of the day!

I think the Irish setters spotted us and came out to use the "ring" immediately afterwards.
I put pictures of my class winners on flickr if anyone is interested.

How did the girls get on Rachel?  Tell 'em they can have Ziggy to handle, he's finally finding his manners!  We had a good day at Chichester, so mustn't grumble ;-)

Mmmmmm........... I wonder why too Terri? :-D

I was thinking if folk don't mind I'd put other shows on Flickr like I did Henley but only open shows, as the Champ shows get loads of coverage in the papers.
