Toearn a Junior Warrant a young dog aged between 6 and 18 months must win breed classes at Open and Championship shows, and gain 25 points.
3 Points are won for a class win at a championship show, and 1 point for a win in a breed class at an Open show.
At least 10 points must be won at Open shows, and all classes must have a minimum of 3 dogs present. If there are not 3 dogs present, but the pyppy/junior is declared BOB, then it can claim the point/points provided there are at least 3 of the breed present.
In numerically small breeds this award becomes nearly impossible to win, as often there are not the required numbers in the young classes at Open shows (or even Ch shows some years) and it is rare for the youngster to go BOB!
In my breed only one exhibit has so far gained this award under the current rules. My Champion bitch had won more than enough Championship show classes, and had won 10 Open show classes, but four of these didn't have 3 in the class, so no Junior warrant, even though she had a CC before 18 months, and is now a Champion with 6CCs, and 2 RCCs to her credit.
